Chapter 13 Verse 6: If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; 7: Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; 8: Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: 9: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

Morals in Christianity? If killing apostates is moral, sure. But it’s not and it never was. I don’t care if the rules were different 4000 years ago or ten million years ago, killing others is never right.

Umm the bible does not contradict any moral understanding, human beings do. I am a christian who obeys and believe the bible word for word – and I have to say you got one thing right, the world thinks I am crazy. So did the world think of the Lord Jesus, Paul, Peter and all the other apostles of Christ.
Will leave you with Jesus’s words in John 15: 18-19
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

By the looks of it you hate Christians, and bible testifies that you do. The very bible you hate is a testimony agaisnt you!

Notice: slave was replaces with servant in many translations of the bible to by more sympathetic but it’s obvious (at least to me) that it is, in fact, a forced situation: aka slavery.

I tried to make it clear that condoning slavery is in the new testament. I’m not sure about rape and sacrifice. I doubt that… I would look up more references but I really don’t want to put any more effort into teaching you about your bible… (I’m assuming). My whole point was that the bible contradicts our current moral understanding and that no one actually obeys the bible word for word. If they did general society would call them, dare I say, crazy.

He doesn’t even know that ALL of the vegetables that we eat have been domesticated through a slow process (of evolution). ‘Wild’ bananas look nothing like the bright yellow banana that you’re used to seeing.

Also, if some Christians really do take the bible as the literal word of god then they should be stoning their unruly children to death, trading slaves according to the rules of the old AND new testaments, raping, murdering and performing ritual human sacrifice. I’m all for promoting the “good parts” of the bible but not to admit that those parts are good BECAUSE they are in the bible. That’s completely and patently false.
